Saint Peter Public Access

Public access television provides an effective means to an individual or community group to communicate their information, activities and point of view to a wide audience. Public Access is free, non-commercial cable channels playing a variety of programs: informational, entertaining, or educational.

Promote Upcoming Community Events on CH. 8, the Community Bulletin Board:

Community individuals or organizations can submit their information to be aired on this channel by emailing SPPA, dropping off a flyer in the Recreation Office, Community Center or in the Finance Department, City Hall.

Submit Recorded Community Events to play on CH. 7:

Individuals or organizations can submit DVDs or files via electronic means such as Dropbox to be aired on this channel. Material must be appropriate for all ages and submitted with DVD and a cablecast release form (PDF) to SPPA, drop off in the Recreation Office at the Community Center or in the Finance Department at City Hall.

Mission

The mission of Saint Peter Public Access (SPPA) is to provide the resources necessary for ensuring cable television broadcasting accessibility by the public.

Content

SPPA records City Council and Saint Peter School Board Meetings at the Saint Peter Community Center and has office and programming equipment at City Hall. SPPA has two channels on the Saint Peter cable system. Channel 7 is the cable channel for local programs and Channel 8 is the Community Bulletin Board, where community residents and organizations post announcements, events, and news releases.

Channels

SPPA Channel 7

SPPA schedules over 80 hours of programming each week with morning and evening programming seven days per week. Individuals or organizations can submit programs via DVD or electronic means such as Dropbox to be played on this channel. Material must be appropriate for all ages and submitted with a cablecast release form (PDF) to SPPA.

Community Bulletin Board (SPPA Channel 8)

Your local cable channel 8 provides viewers with announcements about community events and other local information. Community individuals or organizations can submit their information to be aired on this channel by contacting emailing SPPA, dropping off a flyer in the Recreation Office or Finance Department Office. This is a free service but no commercial advertising is allowed.
