History:

This nearly 20-acre park was established in 1997 on City land and land donated by Nicollet County Bank. The park honors the Gault family, a prominent St. Peter family with roots in the Traverse de Sioux settlement as early as 1852. James Gault was a district assessor in the 1850s, his son Z.S. Gault county auditor and registrar of deeds in the 1870s, cashier and ultimately director of the Nicollet County Bank. His descendants still preside over the bank, and donated generously to the facilities.
